Ciao a tutti,

ho seguito passo passo le istruzioni per downgredare un iPod touch 3G dalla 4.2.1 alla 4.1:
Hosts + iReb + TyniUmbrella

Sembrava tutto finito quando l’iPod non rebootta, le ho provate tutte, non riesco a fare nemmeno il restore con iTunes, dice che lo termina ma poi mi ridà ancora il messaggio che deve ripristinare il lettore e così all’infinito.

Provato anche con altri JBcker per forzare il restore ma non c’è verso, ad esempio con redsn0w 0.9.6b6 se gli ripristino il 4.1 lui va avanti, secondo lui, conclude l’installazione, si vede dal schermo dell’ipod che copia file, scompatta e configura, quando termina e fa il reboot: Schermo Nero.

Mi aiutate pls.

HERE IS THE FIX for 3GS 4.2.1 downgrade to 4.1 with baseband 06.15.00

Solution for 10XX, 16XX, 21 etc errors PC only guys (MAC USERS INSTALL VMWARE PLAYER AND CREATE AN XP VMWARE)

There is a new version of iREB out that will work for you but here is the actual solution as I have seen and experienced myself and that appears to be affecting most 3GS iPhone users. This is what worked for me and should work for you.

What you basically need to do at this point is create a custom IPSW and use iREB to enter the PWNED DFU MODE to install that custom IPSW. NORMAL DFU MODE WILL NOT WORK YOU WILL GET ERROR 1600 or similar. BOTH pwnage tool 3.1.4 and Redsn0w (BOTH ON MAC), didn’t work for me.

The steps:

  1. Create your custom IPSW (WITHOUT THE BASEBAND)

MAC USERS pwnage tool 3.1.4
PC USERS Snowbreeze 2.1 (the guy who makes iREB)

  1. Make sure you select the activate and cydia install options, when creating the IPSW.

IF YOU DON”T NEED TO HACTIVATE THEN DON”T SELECT THE ACTIVATE OPTION.

  1. Next put your phone in NORMAL DFU mode (NOT RECOVERY MODE).

With the phone powered off, or stuck in recovery mode – PRESS & HOLD THE HOME KEY, and then PRESS AND HOLD THE POWER(SLEEP) BUTTON.

If your phone is off then you will see the apple logo and then it will go to a black screen (approx 10 seconds) about 2 seconds after it goes black release the POWER BUTTON ONLY, KEEP HOLDING THE HOME BUTTON for approx another 5 seconds. YOUR COMPUTER WILL BEEP AT YOU. YOUR PHONE WILL REMAIN WITH A BLACK SCREEN (THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT)

If your phone is in recovery mode – you will see the screen go black after approx 7 seconds, KEEP HOLDING THE POWER FOR APPROX 2 SECONDS THEN RELEASE THE POWER ONLY, KEEP HOLDING THE HOME BUTTON for approx another 5 seconds or until your computer beeps at you.

  1. Open iREB that you downloaded from the above link. (MAC users will have to do this in vmware)
  1. Select 3GS and follow onscreen prompts. IF YOU HAVEN’T GOT YOUR PHONE IN DFU ALREADY THIS TOOL WILL TAKE YOU THROUGH THE STEPS. It will sit at waiting for DFU until you get the phone into DFU. It will then install limera1n exploit and LEAVE YOUR PHONE IN A PWNED DFU STATE!!! DO NOT REBOOT YOUR PHONE OR UNPLUG IT.

MAC USERS ONLY – In vmware release the apple usb device from vmware

  1. ADD THIS TO YOUR HOSTS FILE

PC USERS – c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host (open with notepad)
MAC USERS – open terminal – sudo nano /etc/hosts
enter the admin password

At the end of the file paste this in

74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

SAVE THE FILE

  1. TEST YOU CAN PING IT!!!

ping gs.apple.com

MAKE SURE THE REPLIES ARE COMING FROM 74.208.10.249

8 START iTUNES NOW

PC USERS – hold shift key and click restore and select the custom IPSW file you created with Snowbreeze 2.1. Most likely the file is sitting on your desktop

MAC USEERS – Hold ctrl and press restore and browse the custom IPSW you saved from pwnage tool

That will get you back to 4.1 jailbroken with Cydia installed and your set to go.

For users who need to HACTIVATE update Cydia and then search for the Ultrasn0w package and install that and reboot and your done.
