Questa repo mi dava sempre errore mentre installava qualcosa, leggo le scritte in rosso e leggo che qualcosa tipo che non è consentito l’accesso. Entro nel sito e mi chiede l’UDID… che poi ho letto che è un codice identificativo importante… che però è praticamente sparso ovunque quando inizi a fare qualche operazione.

VOlevo chiedervi se posso dare l’UDID tranquillamente o se magari bisogna starci attenti… ma soprattutto se lo ha fatto anche a voi… ho letto che c’è qualcosa di pericoloso ma non ho capito se è un soito non-pericolo o bisogna starci attenti.

Hello, this is the UDID control page for the aaron.ms/repo Cydia repository. You are probably wondering why this is here. It’s for your own good. The repository has been “advertised” on several iPhone blog sites without actually discussing that this is an alpha repository, these tweaks aren’t in a safe state to use on your iDevice. A lot of people have added the repo and haven’t actually paid attention to the warnings about the potential danger of installing these tweaks. Normally, the tweaks you find in Cydia are completely safe to install. The developer has gone to great trouble to insure that you will be fine installing the software to your device, and that you will have an overall good user experience. This repo is a group of my “reject” tweaks. They are too buggy to ever be completed, so they will never be released. But still, they are interesting. A lot of people have asked me if they could get a copy of the tweak in it’s current state just to see what it’s like. So sure, I’m fine with that. It’s fun playing around with these things. But it can be dangerous. So, I’m going to add this little extra step so that you, the user, knows and accepts the risk of installing this repository. You won’t be able to install anything until you submit your UDID. This is so any uninformed user can’t just accidentally break their device. If you accept these conditions, you may submit your UDID below and start installing away. You have been warned.

Note: your UDID will not be distributed to anyone. If you do not know how to find your UDID, you should not be using software from this repository.

Also note, that you should not ever expect these tweaks to be “finished”. That is the exact reason that they are here: because this is as good as they’ll ever be. Please don’t ask me “when will X be finished”, because it won’t be. Maybe I’ll release the source sometime, and you can hack away at it yourself.

In effetti nel messaggio c’era scritto se non erro che a beccano qualcuno a caso per fare 'sta roba, a questo punto se qualcuno conosce l’inglese come si deve magari può dirmi che c’è scritto, altrimenti scrivo l’udid e amen. Mi direste da dove si vede l’udid del proprio iphone?

io fossi in te non installerei questa repo…infatti il messaggio è un avviso con cui l’autore si esonera dal rischio di eventuali problemi del dispositivo. Questi afferma che mentre nelle altre repo i tweak sono sicuri, quelli presenti all’interno di questa potrebbero causare gravi problemi al device in quanto presentano numerosi bugs.

“It’s fun playing around with these things. But it can be dangerous.”…tradotto letteralmente significa: è divertente giocare con queste cose. ma può essere pericoloso!
So, I’m going to add this little extra step so that you, the user, knows and accepts the risk of installing this repository.…e qui dice che ha aggiunto questo piccolo passaggio extra cosi che tu, l’utente, conosca e accetti il rischio di installare questa repository.

Cavoli… ho dato un occhiata ad un paio di app sembrano fantastiche… _

Gravi problemi al device vuol sempre dire software o magari anche hardware intende?

Ti dice di inserire l’UDID per accettare di aver preso visione dei rischi e di assumerti le conseguenze della rottura del telefono. Non specifica, ma io credo che si potrebbe incorrere in problemi software non risolvibili con un ripristino in DFU…altrimenti non vedrei la necessità di un simile messaggio.
Può essere che sbaglio…questa è una mia impressione…sta a te decidere.

Dipende, quanto lo mastichi l’inglese? Il fatto che utilizzare quella repo potesse creare problemi l’avevo inteso, volevo cercare di capire precisamente di quali rischi stiamo parlando… alla fine le varianti sono tante, magari ha messo quel messaggio per dovere di cronaca… in america c’è gente che ha incassato migliaia di euro perchè aveva usato due tampax senza rimuovere il primo perchè nella confezione non c’era scritto…

La repository è pubblicizzata in parecchi iPhone blog senza discutere sul fatto che sia una alpha repository, questi tweaks non sono in sicuri da usare sul tuo iDevice. Molte persone hanno aggiunto la repo e non hanno prestato attenzione alle avvertenze circa gli eventuali pericoli dell’installazione di questi tweaks.
