Ciao io sono nuovo qui, mi spiace per il mio cattivo italiano, perché io non sono a buon italiano.
Sono in viaggio verso Italia (Milano) in circa 2 settimane, e mi piacerebbe acquistare un Iphone 3 GS, qualcuno può dirmi circa la situazione in Italia in merito alla disponibilità del Iphone 3GS e dove posso comprare senza contratto?

purtroppo a Milano è difficile trovare ancora degli iphone. Ti conviene ordinarlo dallo Apple Store, nel giro di 10 giorni ti arriva, oppure prenotarlo in qualche negozio ma ci metti mesi prima che arriva.

so, you can find iphones without contract in every vodafone or tim store…the problem is that they are sold out in many places
maybe you can easily find it in mediaworld/euronics store
to find one you have to be a bit lucky ^^
hmm so does this apply to all of Italy ? hmm here in Denmark it’s totally out of stock, even if it werent i would not buy it because of the outrageous contracts offered. :mad:

yes, you can also buy it in 3 store (and it’s a little bit cheaper…like 20€ less than tim and vodafone)
but find it in 3 store i think that could be harder than in vodafone/tim stores (because 3 contracts are more convenient)
with 3, you will have a sim card with 3gb/month of internet traffic, if you’re interested 
actually, there isn’t any apple store in milan (the first one will open in sectember/october)
p.s.: if you will stay in milan for 2 weeks (as i understand) mabye if you make a reservation in a shop the iphone will arrive before you leave

Contract in Italy has a double meaning. Abbonamento (or contract) means no recharge needed, but you can have a TIM, or Vodafone, or 3 phone without “abbonamento” but you have to sign a CONTRACT. You give your credit card number as warranty and sign a document for a minumum montly traffic fee to be charged on your credit card. Then you can recharge for the traffic you made over the minimum paid.
No “abbonamento” is needed in many options offered, but a CONTRACT is needed in any case if you choose TIM, Vodafone, 3, or WIND

I can’t buy the phone with sim/abonamento, because i need one that is unlocked, i need to take it back to Denmark with me and use it here.

in italy, all iphones are sold with a sim card in the package (with 5€ of traffic), it’s normal…you don’t have to sign anything (if you don’t want to activate the new sim)
sorry but i don’t understand what you mean ? I thought that the prices 16GB=519 euro and 32GB=619 euro were for unlocked iphone with no further payment of any kind…no ? :confused1:
I am not italian citizen and i don’t live in Italy, i want to use the phone here in Denmark.

you should say “without abbonamento”, where “abbonamento” is referred to the contract with the monthly payement
mabye in the store they will ask you some data for the warranty or something like that, but there isn’t any problem if you live in denmark

just one thing…in the center of milan, there are two quite big electronic shops:
_Darty, that is right in the subway, at the stop “san babila” of the red line (or “metro 1”)
_Libreria Mondadori…this is right in the duomo square (loocking at the duomo, in the gallery on the right side of the square)…at the second floor they also sell telephones (last time i saw some iphone accessories, so mabye they also sell the phone)
_Fnac, that is near the stop “missori” of the yellow line (or “metro 3”)
to reach the fnac, you have to walk for 4/5 minutes, so here you have a map :D:
it’s in “via Torino”, that ends at the Duomo of milan

I want to point out also that the iPHONE offered by TIM, Vodafone, 3 and wind at cheaper prices, aren’t without contract. They are without abbonamento but and aren’t connected to a SIM card they are related to a montly traffic payment for 1 or two years, paid via credit card.
Check carefully if you are in a TIM, Vodafone, 3 or Wind store. This obviously doesn’t happens in any Apple store!
